Terms of Service for Curriculum Collective

Last Updated: 10/01/2024

Welcome to Curriculum Collective! By engaging in our services, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Overview of Services

Curriculum Collective offers educational consulting, curriculum development, copyediting, proofreading, ghostwriting, and retainer-based support. We provide tailored packages to meet your unique needs. Our service descriptions, inclusions, and pricing details are available on our website.

2. Acceptance of Projects

Acceptance of projects, genres, and subgenres is at the sole discretion of Curriculum Collective. We reserve the right to decline any project for any reason without explanation.

3. Payment Terms

Payments for services are processed through our website. Invoices may be issued for cases where alternate arrangements are necessary. A deposit may be required for certain services, as specified in the "Pricing" section on the "Services" page. All services are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in Section 10 ("Refunds and Cancellations").

Late Payments: If payment is not received within the agreed timeframe, work may be paused until the payment is processed. In case of non-payment, we reserve the right to terminate services (see Section 11).

4. Retainer Policy

Retainers are contracted for a minimum of six months. If a retainer is canceled before the end of the contract, the remaining balance for the agreed period must be paid in full. Retainer packages can be modified within the six-month period to upgrade to a higher package or change to a custom package. Unused hours do not roll over to the next month and expire at the end of each month. Meetings, unless an emergency, must be schedule at least a week in advanced.

5. Client Requirements and Deadlines

Clients are required to provide necessary materials and information at the project's start. Due dates and timelines will be mutually agreed upon. Failure to meet these requirements may result in delays, extending the timeline by the length of the client’s delay plus an additional 14 days. Work will be delivered in the format agreed upon, either via email or through the client’s member page.

6. Revisions

Each project includes a specified number of revision rounds based on the selected package. Revisions can be requested within one month of the initial draft delivery. Additional revisions may be purchased at $0.02 per word for manuscripts and written works or at $85 per hour (minimum one hour) for other services.

7. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

An NDA is automatically included with all projects, and it is mandatory for ghostwriting services. Curriculum Collective uses its own NDA template, but clients may request specific items to be added. All client information, materials, and project details are treated confidentially.

8. Copyright and Ownership

Clients retain full ownership of the materials created for them. Curriculum Collective reserves the right to use excerpts (e.g., lesson plans, curriculum maps) for portfolio purposes, which will only be available upon request to potential clients or employers. Clients may opt out of having their work included in the portfolio by notifying us in writing.

For ghostwritten works, all copyright is transferred to the client upon completion and payment. The client assumes full responsibility for the final content.

9. Compliance and Quality Assurance

Curriculum Collective ensures that all curriculum and educational materials comply with applicable standards. However, clients are responsible for ensuring that any materials used comply with their specific institutional or regulatory requirements.

10. Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds and cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis. If a project is canceled before significant work has begun, 20% of the total price will be charged, and the remaining 80% will be refunded. No refunds are issued once significant work is underway.

11. Termination of Services

Services may be terminated by Curriculum Collective under the following conditions:

  • Non-payment (work will be paused after the first month of non-payment and terminated after the second month).

  • Violations of the confidentiality agreement or NDA.

  • Submission of inappropriate, illegal, or offensive content.

  • Failure to provide necessary materials or feedback within the agreed timeline.

  • Repeated breach of revision policies or failure to adhere to agreed timelines.

  • Requests for services outside the initial agreement without a revised contract.

If services are terminated for any of these reasons, payment for all services rendered will still be required in full.

12. Liability and Dispute Resolution

Curriculum Collective is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of its services. If a dispute arises, clients agree to indemnify and hold Curriculum Collective harmless from any claims or damages. Legal action cannot be taken against Curriculum Collective, and if pursued, the client will be responsible for all legal fees incurred.

13. Modification of Terms

Curriculum Collective reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Clients will be notified of changes via email. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Support and Communication

Support is generally available between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Responses outside these hours may occur but are not guaranteed. No support will be provided on Jewish holidays, federal holidays, or during unexpected events (e.g., natural disasters, family emergencies).

15. Agreement

By engaging in services with Curriculum Collective, clients agree to these Terms of Service. This agreement will be documented electronically upon payment or formal acceptance of a project.
